Merkled Studio: Design + Fabrication

Merkled Studio was commissioned to reimagine the main bar at Holocene, the centerpiece of the venue and the first feature everyone sees upon entering. This was an exciting and inspiring project to approach. The goal was to create a design that complemented the elements Merkled Studio had crafted over the years, while also allowing the bar to stand out as its own distinctive feature.

We envisioned a design that incorporated pops of color, brass accents, reflective surfaces, and strategic lighting—perfectly suited for both a busy dance night and a daytime wedding.The design aimed to balance moody luxury with high functionality, meeting the demands of a high-traffic area. It needed to be durable enough to support an extensive selection of liquor, wine, beer, and glassware, while also enabling multiple bartenders to work seamlessly on a busy night.
