It has been an exciting and busy past few months here at Merkled! I thought I would fill you in and share some of my finished work with you.

Recently the Relish Store changed locations here in Portland, and I had the opportunity to help them with several renovation projects.

First, I designed and fabricated stainless steel door pulls for all the front doors. The door pulls are 4' long and slanted to accentuate the feeling of pulling the door open and are etched with the words "be the change you wish to see in the world".

I also project managed and fabricated the public art piece designed by artist Deb Hiller (DASH). We worked together to realize her idea on a 9' x 7' piece of lasercut steel plate. It is powder coated blue and is permanently located on the store's facade.

And lastly, I retrofitted some exisiting shelves and fabricated new shelves to match them. The shelves have machined aluminum collets and brackets with clear acrylic shelving.

Merkled Collaborates!

I also had the pleasure to work in collaboration with fellow Portland designer Susanna Hohmann. We created a series of molded felt wall panels themed around the ideas of Northwest flora and fauna.

To accompany our the panels we designed a series of felted cups and molded placemats utilizing some of the same processes.

This marked the first Merkled collaboration of its kind and was an exciting exploration of material and process.

Susanna and I are also collaborating on a furniture piece for this years SHOW PDX but more news on that in the coming weeks!

For more information on Merkled please visit the website. All these updates and more will be added soon.

I am always looking for exciting projects and opportunies to work with new clients. Please keep Merkled in mind for future projects.

Thanks, and have a great day!
